This workshop by Bhutanese filmmaker, director and actor, Loday Chophel, will focus on the universal method and art of story telling, putting emphasis on how it can be used to battle erosion of cultures over generations and ensure that the intended story told in a film will be wholesome and work towards positive influence.
Loday Chophel studied film-making at the Asian Academy of Film and Television, India. He was awarded the best student of the year from AAFT in 2009. His first short film, ‘Khamsum’ won the award for best short film during the Beskop Tsechu (a Bhutanese film festival), in 2011 and for ‘Rent and Grains’ in 2013. Loday Chophel is adept in direction, acting and editing. He derives his stories from deep reflective inspiration from Buddhism.
